Year of Jewish Culture - 100 Years of the Jewish Museum in Prague
 

The project is held under the auspices of the Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic Vítězslav Jandák, Chairman of the House of Representatives Lubomír Zaorálek, Chairman of the Senate Přemysl Sobotka, Mayor of the City of Prague Pavel Bém and Václav Havel.

Jewish Museum in Prague
May 17-August 28 Images of The Prague Ghetto, Museum of the City of Prague
A selection of works from the collection of the Jewish Museum of Prague, the Museum of the City of Prague and the National Gallery in Prague. In approximately 200 paintings, drawings and graphic sheets - family portraits, romantic images of the Old Jewish Cemetery, as well as the streets and corners of the Prague Ghetto from the period of its reconstruction that took place prior to the establishment of the Jewish Museum in Prague. June 21-July 26 Form of the Scroll, Robert Guttmann Gallery
The exhibition brings us closer to one of the oldest forms of books still alive in the Jewish culture - the scroll. The scrolls of Torah and the scrolls of Esther are widely read in synagogues, and are also a source of inspiration for contemporary Jewish artists.

A return to the old days or how the beast did not triumph - a reconstruction of the exhibitions held by the old Jewish Museum in Prague in 1906-40.
 
September 6-December 31 Melissa Shiff: Ark, Pinkas Street
Video sculpture in the form of a gigantic ship, which has been made for the centenary of the Museum. It provides a visual metaphor in which the history of the Museum, as an ark protecting the important artifacts of Jewish culture in the Czech lands, merges with the past and present of the city against the backdrop of the dramatic events of the twentieth century. This project is held in association with the 9 Gates Festival with support from the Canadian Embassy in Prague, Prague City Hall and the Czech Ministry of Culture

September 1-17 - Don’t Lose Faith in Mankind... The Protectorate Through the Eyes of Jewish Children
Travelling exhibition and educational project of the Education and Culture Centre of the Jewish Museum in Prague. It contains 20 display panels featuring the stories of six children who were persecuted during the Second World War because of their race.
Anne Frank – Legacy for the Present
The aim of this international travelling exhibition is to encourage visitors to think about the meaning of tolerance, humans rights and democracy in the present world. Held in association with the Anne Frank House, Amsterdam
The Children’s Story. Children’s Drawings from the Terezin Ghetto
This exhibition is divided into eight thematic units which describe the history of the Jewish population of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia during the Holocaust with emphasis on life in Terezín, particularly as seen through the eyes of children.

Boskovice 2006, July 13–16
14th annual festival for the Jewish Quarter featuring music of various genres, theatre, film, video screenings, exhibitions, art workshops and happenings throughout the town. The synagogue (housing a Boskovice Museum exhibition on the Jewish Quarter) and the Jewish cemetery will be open to the public throughout the duration of the festival. The festival is held in association with the municipality of Boskovice and the Mensdorff-Pouilly family under the auspices of the Governor of the Southern Moravian Region.
