Prague Museum Night

The Jewish Museum in Prague took part in the fourth Prague Museum Night this year. It opened the doors to the Maisel and the Spanish Synagogues after the end of the Sabbath on 16 June 2007, from 10.30 p.m. to 1 a.m. In the course of two and half hours, the synagogues were visited by about 3,000 visitors.
 
Visitors were given free guided tours and were able to consult the curators of the exhibitions that are housed in the two synagogues.
 
The exhibition The History of the Jews in Bohemia and Moravia I – From the First Settlements until Emancipation was on display in the Maisel Synagogue. The exhibition curator Alexandr Putík was available to take questions from the visitors.
 
The exhibition The History of the Jews in Bohemia and Moravia II – from Emancipation to the Present was on display in the Spanish Synagogue. Questions were taken by Iveta Cermanová from the Jewish History Department and Jaroslav Kuntoš, the curator of the silver collection.
