Thursday 14 January at 6 p.m. The Ancient Jewish Community of Yemen. Photography exhibition opening accompanied by a lecture by the Israeli geography photographer and culture documentarist Naftali Hilger, who has long focused on the Jewish aspects of the Islamic and Arab world. The photographs originate from the years 1987 to 2008 during which time he visited Yemen seven times to document the life of the local Jewish community whose members had not been allowed to leave Yemen for decades. His photographs have been exhibited at the Museum of Islamic Art in Jerusalem and at various Jewish community centres in the U.S.A. In English with simultaneous interpretation. Free admission.
