The Art of the Clarinet / Karel Dohnal with String Trio

A concert given by Karel Dohnal, one of the Czech Republic’s most prominent clarinettists with a string trio composed of Czech Philharmonic members. The concert programme features works by Bernhard Henrik Crussel (1775–1838), Ottorino Respighio (1879–1936), Guillaume Connesson (1970) and others. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Maisel Synagogue and at the Jewish Museum's Information and Reservation Centre (Maiselova 15, Prague 1), or through the Ticket Art network, Prague Ticket Office (online or at its shop in the Old Town Square) and the Jewish Museum's website.

Leading Czech clarinetist Karel Dohnal is a laureate of many prestigious international competitions. A graduate of the Prague Academy of Performing Arts, he also studied at universities in London, Berlin, Hilversum and Saint Petersburg. During his career, he has given concerts in a host of countries in Europe, Asia, North and South America. He is a member of the PhilHarmonia Octet Prague, Trio Amadeus, and the State Opera in Prague. His outstanding performances – which also reflect his talent for comedy, acting and pantomime – have been met with great acclaim
 
Xenie Dohnalová is a graduate of the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory and also studied at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She has given many concerts in Europe and also in Japan. In addition to solo performances, she also focuses intensively on chamber music. As well as playing in the Concertante Piano Trio, she is a member of the Brahms Trio Prague and the Czech Philharmonic.
 
Pavel Hořejší is a graduate of the Prague Conservatory and the Prague Academy of Performing Arts. He also has a post-graduate degree in  chamber music performance from Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien (University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna). He received many awards while still as student. During his studies in Prague, he founded the M. Nostitz Quartet with colleagues in 1994. He was a member of the Czech Philharmonic from 1990 to 1996 and a member of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra between 2008 and 2014. He has been a member of the viola section of the Czech Philharmonic since January 2015. He also plays in the Rudolphin Ensemble Prague and the Cinque Archi Ensemble, which are composed of Czech Philharmonic members.
