The Kalabis Quintet was founded in 2012 by students of the Faculty of Music at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts under the tutelage of Štěpán Koutník. The ensemble has received several international awards, including two first prizes at the 2014 International Summer Academy in Austria, first prize and the title of Laureate at the Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf competition in Vidnava (Weidenau) in October 2014, and third prize and the title of Laureate at the 8th International Woodwind Quintet Competition in Marseilles (Concours International de Quintette a vent) in February 2015.
 
  
Zuzana Bandúrová is a highly respected member of the young generation of Czech flautists as a performer of both classical and contemporary music. Since winning the Competition of Conservatories in Bratislava in 2004, she has performed in many European countries, including Spain, Luxembourg, Germany, and Austria. She is a member of the Berg Orchestra and the  Konvergence Ensemble.
 
 
Jarmila Vávrová is currently a student of Prof. Jana Brožková at the Faculty of Music at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts. In 2015, she completed a six-month course at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Lyon) under Prof. Jean-Louis Capezzali and Jérôme Guichard. She won the UFAM International Oboe Competition in Paris in 2009, having coming fourth the year before. She regularly takes part in Jean-Louise Capezzali’s courses at the Czech-French Academy of Music in Telč. She was an Orchestral Academy member at the Czech Philharmonic in 2015–2017 and has been an Orchestral Academy member at the Prague Philharmonia for three seasons.
 
Anna Sysová is currently a student of Milan Polák and Vít Spilka at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. In 2014, she was a soloist with the Prague Symphony Orchestra at the Prague Rudolfinum. In May 2015, she received the Oleg Podgorný Prize at the Prague Spring competition. Since 2015 she has been a member of the Orchestra Academy of the Brno Philharmonic. In 2017, she was selected through a Europe-wide competition to become a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra (Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester).
 
Denisa Beňovská studied under Prof. František Herman and Prof. Jiří Seidla at the Faculty of Music at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts. She is currently a student  of Prof. Jörg Michael Thomé at the University of Music and Theatre (Hochschschule für Musik und Theater) "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig. In June 2015 she received first prize in the 2015 Summer Bassoon Academy (LFA) competition in Rataje nad Sázavou. She has performed as a guest with various orchestras, including the Talich Chamber Orchestra, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Symphonic Ensemble, the Berg Orchestra, and the National Theatre Chamber Orchestra.
 
Adéla Triebeneklová studied under Radek Baborák and Zdeněk Divoký at the Faculty of Music at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts, completing a master’s degree in 2017. She is a frequent participant of the music performance courses of André Cazalet (Czech-French Academy of Music in Telč and the International Summer Academy of the MDW – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna). In 2012–2015 she was an Orchestral Academy member at the Prague Philharmonia. In 2013–2015 she attended the Czech Philharmonic Orchestral Academy. She has been a member of the National Theatre Opera Orchestra since 2013 and a member of the Prague Philharmonia since 2016.
