Collection & funds
The items in the collections of the Jewish Museum in Prague are registered in the Registration of Collections at the Czech Ministry of Culture.
The museum has the following sub-collections:
The core sub-collections comprise synagogue and household objects that are made of textiles (Torah ark curtains, mantles, binders, valances, covers, etc.) or metal (Torah finials, crowns, shields, pointers, spice boxes, bowls, alms boxes, etc.). The third large sub-collection comprises visual art (paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, new media).
This sub-collection comprises the historical book holdings (books printed before 1860) and the rare book collection, which contains books published after 1860 that are of historical, cultural or academic value for the museum's library holdings.
