Cradle

A child’s cradle used in the Jewish milieu does not differ in shape or material from an ordinary cradle. It is distinguishable only if it contains particular symbols or inscriptions, which usually express wishes of a happy life for the child. Cradles may also have been used in the synagogue for holding the child during the ceremony circumcision.
