Rob Fried, sponsor of the Jewish Museum in Prague interview project "From Generation To... " recently published the following personal statement.
The Jewish Museum in Prague endorses his text by sharing it here.
“It is important to reflect on the two recent tragedies that occurred at synagogues in the US, during Jewish prayer services
at the Chabad of Poway, California in April, 2019 and The Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill (Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania
in October 2018.
These attacks along with an increase in anti Semitic related incidents requires us to be more alert and take action to educate
others.
The important work of the JMP Oral History team allows for the personal experiences of survivors of the Shoah to be documented
so that the world and future generations can learn - so that such tragedies are never forgotten and never happen again.
With the passing of Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, the JMP and Robert B. Fried, sponsor of the From Generation To...
Interview Project, are working together to ensure that the we document the experiences of survivors throughout the world.
Time is precious as the survivor population ages and we hope to gather a larger number of testimonies this year.“
